Windows and doors in Upstate South Carolina

Replacement windows and doors, installed by a family business since 1992.

New windows make a house quieter, more comfortable and easier to heat and cool. We replace windows and doors on homes from Lake Keowee to Spartanburg.

The short answer

Cannady Construction is a family-owned window and door contractor based in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. We replace windows, patio doors and entry doors on homes across Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens and Laurens counties.

Most of our window jobs are whole-house replacements: we take out the old windows, check the openings for rot, set and seal the new windows, and finish the trim inside and out.

When you call, you talk to an owner. We come out, measure every window, and give you a free estimate.

What we install

Windows and doors we install

We'll help you choose styles that fit your house and how you use each room.

Double-hung windows

The classic window in most Upstate homes. Both parts slide and tilt in, so they're easy to clean from inside.

Casement and awning windows

Crank-out windows that seal tightly when closed. Good over sinks and counters, and anywhere you want a clear view.

Picture and specialty shapes

Large fixed windows and arched, round or custom shapes for great rooms, stairways and gables.

Patio doors

Sliding and hinged glass doors to a deck, patio or porch, with tighter seals than older doors.

Entry doors

Front and side doors in fiberglass or steel, with glass and hardware to suit the house.

Outside trim

We trim or wrap the outside of each window so it's sealed against water and matches the siding.

When to replace

Signs it's time for new windows

  • Drafts or cold spots near the windows
  • Fog or moisture between the panes of glass
  • Windows that stick, won't stay open or won't lock
  • Soft or rotten wood on sills and frames
  • Outside noise you can clearly hear indoors
  • High heating and cooling bills

If only one or two windows have a problem, we'll tell you whether a repair or a single replacement makes more sense.

Cost

What affects the price of new windows

Every house is different, so we price each job after we see it. These are the things that move the number most.

Number and size

Window jobs are priced per window. Larger and custom-sized windows cost more.

Frame material

Vinyl windows cost the least. Fiberglass and wood windows cost more and offer more colors and finishes.

Glass

Double-pane glass with a low-E coating is standard. Triple-pane or specialty glass adds to the price.

Shapes and repairs

Arched and custom shapes, and fixing rot around the openings, add to the job.

Questions

Window questions we hear most

Will new windows lower my energy bills?

In most homes, yes. Double-pane windows with low-E glass and good seals let in much less summer heat and lose less heat in winter than old single-pane or worn-out windows. How much you save depends on the house.

Do you have to remove the siding to replace windows?

Usually not. Most replacement windows fit inside the existing frame. If a frame is rotten, we replace it and patch the siding around it. If you're also thinking about new siding, it's a good time to do both.

Can you replace just one window?

Yes. If one window is broken or fogged, we can replace it alone. If several are failing, replacing them together usually costs less per window, and they'll match.

Do you replace doors too?

Yes. We install patio doors and entry doors, and we can match them to your new windows.

What areas do you serve?

Anderson, Belton, Clemson, Clinton, Easley, Fountain Inn, Greenville, Greer, Lake Keowee, Laurens, Mauldin, Pendleton, Pickens, Simpsonville, Spartanburg and Travelers Rest. If your town is nearby and not listed, call us.

Are estimates free?

Yes. We come out, look at the job and give you a price at no cost.
